Announcement:
Our 2008 Awards Banquet held on November 7, 2008 at O'Connor's Restaurant was a huge success with over eighty people in attendance! Thank you all for coming
out for a great dinner and celebration. We couldn't have asked for a better turnout to hilight our first year!
The Worcester County
Riders Associating is putting finishing touches on the 2009 Horse Show plans.
Once again, WCRA is enlisting the services of some of the best local judges from
the surrounding areas. Some changes we are excited about for 2009 are a bigger
ring, a newly constructed entry booth and a warm-up ring. Additional
changes outside of facility enhancements are to offer price breaks to entrants
electing to compete in every class in a division. There will be pricing for
single classes as well as pricing for entire
divisions.
Some class changes are
the addition of a Model Pony class. There are also a couple more Gymkhana
classes added to the current ones held at the end of the day. We always love
holding the Gymkhana classes at the end of the day, saving the excitement for
last. There is the possibility of adding a few Miniature Horse classes and will
do so either this year, or in 2010 if there is enough interest. All show dates,
judges list, class list (almost final version) and entry forms are posted on the
web site.
In addition to the 2009
horse shows, the Worcester County Riders Association is excited to announce
the upcoming seminar and workshop it is hosting with renown horse
trainer and clinician, Ron McLoughlin from Pearce, Arizona. Ron
has worked with thousands of students, conducting over 667 three day
clinics across the US, Canada and Sweden. Ron McLoughlin, Monte Foreman
accredited Instructor founded the McLaughlin Horse Handling School' on the
'Foremen Humane System' of handling horses. A seminar and one day mounted
workshop will be conducted by Ron at Cornerstone Ranch (www.CornerstoneRanch.org), Princeton,
MA the weekend of July 11, 2009. The seminar is free to all. Information and
sign up forms for the workshop will be posted on the Worcester County Rider's
& Cornerstone Ranch web sites.

shade just beyond the food concession. Our first show of the 2009 season is June 28. Please browse our web site for a complete class list, horse show dates, judge list,
trail course patterns, horsemanship patterns, and patterns for the hunter and jumper classes -- to be posted soon!
